Because of staffing issues and illness, we weren't able to fill you in on the print headlines of some of the print issues as each one was released. So we're making that up to you right now, in the form of e-Edition Archives Print Headlines.
This is kind of a retro thing, as we're no longer producing the print version...but you still have access to all the articles that ever went into a print product from July of 2012 to July of 2018, if you're wisely hanging on to your recurring $5.99 a month payment, or if you are up for a $4.99 week pass or $2.99 day pass. And while you still have access, you can still peruse the articles that were in the print products if you have a Print Headlines guide...so that's what we're catching you up on.
Print Headlines is what we developed so that you can read what's in the featured issue of Disclosure; we give you a headline with hotlink so you can click right to the article; it also includes what county or town the action in the article took place, as well as a brief synopsis where necessary. Print Headlines are broken down by sections: Front page, back page (our second front page), pages 2 and 3, features if any (usually on pages 12 and 13), Egypt, Heartland, Central, and, a little out of order, Op-Ed. And now, without further ado, here are your Print Headlines for the July-August 2018 issue.
FRONT PAGE
LAWRENCEVILLE - Bogus embezzlement claims cause chaos: The end of the bitter and acrimonious relationship between employees of United Methodist Village in Lawrenceville and their director, Paula McKnight...researched a little more thoroughly than the local offerings, which leaned a bit more toward the acrimony hurled at McKnight. Read it to understand what's REALLY going on with the village, which is experiencing problems of increased magnitude since McKnight's departure and replacement.
WHITE CO. - Jailbreak prompts repairs, multiple felony arrests: Published a month after the jailbreak that had White and surrounding counties abuzz for weeks, this is another thorough article that covers every possible ramification of the jail situation in Carmi...except the false claim, put forth by the haterz, that "the jail is losing money, the sheriff is in trouble, somebody's stealing from the county," yadda yadda yadda.
WHITE CO. - Judge signs documents in brother-in-law's civil case: It's amazing, isn't it, the tricks that attorneys will get up to in order to help someone hide/protect/cover up the bad doings of their relatives...? And now, a Second Circuit Judge is in extremely hot water for what he's done in his brother-in-law's case. But don't worry, we're sure that the good judge will have a fine explanation as to how it all went down, and why he didn't really do anything wrong at all...meanwhile, if you have a complaint against this judge (as several do), here's a link to the Judicial Inquiry Board...fill it out, attach exhibits, and do something fruitful with your life.
GALLATIN CO. - Punch leads to death of Ridgway man: Young punk from GallCo gets into a fight with a family member, lands a particular punch that ultimately leads to the man's death. At least it happened under Doug Dyhrkopp's watch as opposed to Allen Roe's...the kid in question, Kory Kuizinga, is still locked up. If Roe had been in the state's attorney's office when the kid was charged, the kid would be out running around telling people what a hard time he had during his 2 hours in jail...
BACK PAGE
WHITE CO. - Carmi man dies after beating; further charges may be pending: By mid-July of this year, the number of people who had died after being brutally beaten was on the rise in what far too many people believe is quaint, peaceful lil ol southern Illinois. As you know, 'quaint' and 'peaceful' don't quite get it when you're looking at the reality.
OLNEY - No robbery of McDonald's, but robbery 'near' McD's: Some confusion about what happened with Seth Whalen back in mid-June...but this article sorts it all out.
LAWRENCE CO. - Former city alderman evicted from rental house: Tim Akers' woes just continue to compound. It might help if he'd just pay all the people he's ripped off over the years (documented, so don't get any ideas...)
PAGE 2
GALLATIN CO. - Guy smacked at intersection in Beamer sues county, township, commissioner and other driver: Civils in Gallatin County rarely fail to bring you an interesting read...as well as something for you to say "Boy, glad that's not happening to ME" about....
SALINE CO. - Former ChickenBob relative sued by Discover for non-payment: You might have gotten the impression that Robert Wilson isn't one of our favorite people. That's the wrong impression. And anyway, the article isn't about him...it's about someone he should consider himself fortunate to be shed of.
PAGE 3
SALINE/POPE COs. - Curry convicted: will he stay behind bars? - It's possible that he'll get the minimum in Saline so that it appears that someone is doing their job...: Long headline, but appropriate for what this guy has put the people of the Wasson area through.
