JASPER CO., Ill. - A young Newton woman was injured and sent to Deaconess in Evansville after losing control of her car on a Jasper County road this morning (Wednesday, October 17).

Illinois State Police in District 12 Effingham said the crash occurred at 9:52 a.m. this morning on Jasper County Road 600N at CR 1275E.

Preliminary investigative details indicate that Miranda A. Meeks, 20, of Newton, driving a red 2004 Dodge, was traveling eastbound on CR600N when she failed to negotiate the curve just west of 1275E and ran off the roadway to the south or 600N.

The vehicle traveled through the ditch before striking a culvert and going airborne.

The Dodge landed on the roadway and overturned multiple times before coming to rest.

Meeks was flown to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She has been cited for Improper Lane Usage and Driving Too Fast for Conditions.
