Accidents and traffic citations dominate Clay County Sheriff’s Office report

CLAY CO., Ill. - Clay County Sheriff's Office has been handling mostly traffic citations and accidents, as Sheriff Andy Myers shows us in this departmental report.

Oct. 12, the Clay County Sheriff's office received a report of a motor vehicle accident west of the intersection of Bible Grove Lane and Old Bible Grove Road. Apparently Dennis J. Barham, 30, Louisville, operating a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox was travelling north on Bible Grove Lane, lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, went down the embankment and made contact with the ditch causing the vehicle to overturn. Barham was transported to Clay County Hospital for his injuries. He was cited for Reckless Driving and given a Notice to Appear in Clay County Court.

Oct. 12, Robbie Poppino, 34, Noble, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operation of an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

Oct. 12, Charles A. Hundley, 26, Noble, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Criminal Trespass to a Residence and Obstructing a Peace Officer. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

Oct. 13, Ben J. Greenwood, 34, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of D.U.I. Bond set at $5,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.
