WHITE CO., Ill. - White County Sheriff's Office personnel had a nice quiet weekend, with only a couple of incidents to report on that may or may not have broken the relative peace.

With friends like these...

A Friday report from an Enfield resident involved missing cash.

Tiffany EE Lindsay, 23, of CR 1250N in that White County village, advised Friday afternoon (October 12) at around 2 p.m. that the night before, she had a friend over to her residence between 8 and 11 p.m. Lindsey said that her grandmother had given her $250 cash on that day, and Lindsey had placed that money in her wallet, where she had also placed another $25, making the total $275. Lindsey advised that she always placed the strap around the wallet as to wrap it. She had placed the wallet in the living room on the table, and noted that she and her friend (whose name as well as other identifiers were blacked out on the report) were the only two people in the house.

Then on Friday, Lindsey was going to leave her residence when she noticed her wallet had been opened and the strap was no longer wrapped around it. When she opened her wallet, she noticed all of the money was gone.

She signed a complaint for theft under $500, so we'll be watching arrests and see if this unidentified 'friend' becomes identified.

Might better get those locks fixed...

On Saturday, Oct. 13, at approximately 9:40 a.m., Dawn Reynolds, 47 of Maunie, reported that her 2009 Honda Civic - which has locks on the doors but they don't work, she reported - was entered and items were taken.

Reynolds reported to Deputy Randy Graves that missing items were an Acer laptop with two buttons missing on it; a brown leather computer case with multiple pockets; three cell phone chargers; two audio cables for cell phones; a 4-plug phone jack; some body spray; and a pink and black steering wheel cover.

With this careful inventory, perhaps someone might identify the stolen items should they be pawned somewhere in the area. If you have any info on it, you might contact the White County Sheriff's Office at 618-382-7149.

One lone arrest to report

And then the singular arrest White County was involved in over the weekend came about as the result of Graves locating one Jon Adam Nesler, 39 of Crossville, who was taken into custody at about a quarter to 11 Saturday morning.

Nesler was transported to the jail without incident, and apparently was able to post the required $500 cash bond on the Failure to Appear (on a traffic citation) warrant out of White County, as he's currently not locked up.
