SALINE CO., Ill. - Saline County Sheriff Ken Clore has announced the arrest of and charges against a teen from Rosiclare who has admitted to stealing a weapon in neighboring Saline.
Clore reports that Saline County Deputy Adam Stanley received a report of a stolen .380 Ruger, from Brandon Tanner at 1060 Blackman Hill Road, on September 24.
After a tip was submitted to Deputy Stanley, he interviewed Koty K. Caraker, 18, of Rosiclare, who admitted to stealing the firearm.
Caraker was arrested on September 29 and preliminary charged with Theft and Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He remains in the Saline County Detention Center.
The case is still under investigation by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office; the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
