WHITE CO., Ill. - A Carmi crim who was sentenced to a few years in Illinois Department of Corrections two weeks ago apparently hadn't made it there yet, and was out and about long enough to get in trouble over the weekend, according to a report submitted by Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter.
On September 19 of this year, Starlett Dunn, 35 of Carmi, was sentenced to three years in IDOC for Theft, this after a probation violation.
However, apparently something about that didn't take, as she was out and about over the weekend and her proclivity for absconding with items that belong to other people got the best of her.
Late Friday, September 28, at about 11:33 p.m., city officers were called to one of the various gambling joints, Nikki's Place, in reference to the theft of a vehicle that had been parked behind another downtown business, Danny's Pool Room.
There, they found Dunn, who was arrested for Theft Over $500, Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle and Driving While Revoked after it was alleged she stole a 2010 Ford F-150 that had been parked behind Danny's.
Dunn was arrested after she parked the truck and fled on foot.
She was located by K9 Orest after she was tracked to a fencerow on the west side of James Avenue.
Dunn remains locked up this morning in the city/county jail in Carmi; it remains to be seen what's going to be done with her now that she's gotten in trouble AGAIN after being sentenced...as well as why her skank rear wasn't sitting in IDOC when it should've been more than two weeks ago.
In another Carmi incident, a Grayville man turned himself in on a warrant this morning, Monday, October 1.
Lance Eric Bryant, 32, was the one. There was a warrant for his arrest on a traffic violation in White dating back to 2017, and he turned himself in on it at 7:15 a.m. today.
He remained in jail as of late this morning.
