WHITE CO., Ill. - A local felon whose ID still shows a Belleville address was arrested by Carmi police yesterday after an incident in which he called the law on someone, law arrived...and found out the crim had an active warrant himself.

Carmi police report that at approximately 3:15 p.m. yesterday (Wednesday, August 29), 911 dispatch received a call from one Anthony Bridges, 31, who reports addresses in both Belleville in St. Clair County, as well as a local (Carmi) address on the 100 block of Fairview Drive. Bridges stated that there was "a female" present (unnamed) who "would not leave" the Fairview Drive residence.

Bridges then advised dispatch to disregard his call, as the female was leaving and he no longer needed law enforcement response.

That might've been because Bridges realized at about the same time dispatch did that he was under an active warrant out of White County from just a couple of weeks ago (Aug. 10) and a Retail Theft charge that had been filed against him.

Dispatch advised the responding officer of this little factoid, and the officer, arriving at the Fairview Drive residence, spoke with Bridges, who asserted that there were "no issues" there. However, that warrant was hanging out there, and Bridges was taken into custody and booked at the city/county jail.

Bridges, who has a history of felonies dating back five years in White County, was able to post bond to secure his release and supposedly made a first appearance today, with another coming up in a couple of weeks.
