HARRISBURG, Ill./ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Harrisburg Police Chief David Morris has announced the capture of the two men wanted in the shooting of Ramonte Scott last week...that capture taking place in St. Louis.
Morris said that Tuesday (August 21), at approximately 10:30 p.m., members of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department SWAT team and agents with the FBI Fugitive Task Force apprehended Andrew D. Johnson, 32, and Mario J. Ward, 34, in St. Louis, Missouri.
Johnson and Ward were arrested on Saline County warrants charging them with Attempted Murder, Home Invasion, Aggravated Battery, Armed Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Criminal Damage to property. These charges stem from the shooting of Scott, 24, on Club Street in Harrisburg on August 13, 2018.
Johnson and Ward are being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center, pending extradition back to Saline County.
The Harrisburg Police Department along with multiple city, county, state and federal agencies spent countless hours to find these two because of the severity of their crimes, Morris said.
