Brandon Atwood

OLNEY, Ill. - Apparently Brandon Atwood couldn't find enough people to roll on in Richland/Lawrence/Clay counties where he was doing his dope-slinging a few years ago.

And that's too bad, because we know of SEVERAL of his associates who should've gone down with him but didn't.

Atwood, 33, of Olney, was recently sentenced to 97 months in federal prison on methamphetamine related charges, Steven D. Weinhoeft, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today. Atwood had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of a federal indictment.

During court proceedings, Atwood admitted that from 2015 to 2017, he conspired with others to knowingly and intentionally distribute methamphetamine in violation of federal law.

The total amount of methamphetamine involved in the conspiracy was five (5) grams or more of crystal methamphetamine, commonly referred to as “Ice.” Atwood further admitted that he had distributed methamphetamine on two occasions in November 2017. All of Atwood’s crimes were committed in Richland County, Illinois.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. If anyone associated with the investigation would like to know who Atwood was running with, contact us. We'll dish it.
