JASPER CO., Ill. - Two young Olney residents were injured - and one cited with DUI-Drugs and other charges - after the vehicle they were in flipped on a Jasper County road very early this morning.
Illinois State Police said the single-vehicle wreck occurred this morning (Thursday, August 16) at 5:20 a.m.
ISP said that the preliminary investigative details indicate a 2015 red Chevrolet Silverado pickup being driven by Trevor G. Beal, 20, of Olney, was northbound on Sainte Marie Road just south of Jasper County Road East 300th Avenue. With Beal was Sophie A. Carter, 21, also of Olney.
The Silverado veered off the roadway and into the west ditch, where it struck a culvert and began to flip several times before coming to a stop upright on the west side of the roadway.
Both Beal and Carter were transported to Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney. Beal was issued citations for DUI-Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Improper Lane Usage.
