CUMBERLAND CO., Ill. - Three truck drivers were transported to the hospital in Terre Haute following a three-vehicle crash this morning in Cumberland County.
Illinois State Police reports the accident occurred at 9:14 a.m. this morning, Thursday, August 16.
Preliminary investigative details indicate that a white 2014 Peterbilt truck being driven by Daljinder S. Sangha, 36, of Brampton, Ontario, was traveling eastbound in the right lane on I-70 at milepost 127.
A white 2006 Freightliner being operated by Roberta Morrison, 46, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and a gray 2015 Freightliner being operated by Roy McFadden, 47, of St. Louis, Missouri, were parked on the right shoulder to the right of the white boundary line waiting on a tow service to arrive.
Sangha's truck crossed the white boundary line and struck the Morrison Freightliner in the rear driver's side of the trailer it was pulling. The Peterbilt continued forward and sideswiped McFadden's Freightliner , which was parked in front of Morrison's.
Sangha's Peterbilt then veered left into the median, where it came to rest.
All three, Sangha, Morrison and McFadden, were transported by Greenup Ambulance to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. A passenger in Sangha's truck, Navpreet Mutti, 22, of Brampton, Ontario, was apparently uninjured.
Sangha was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
