MT. CARMEL, Ill. - Mt. Carmel city police had an active day yesterday (Monday, August 6), as this report from Det. Sgt. Ryan Turner shows; there were three arrested by city PD.
First, MCPD arrested Erin E. Adams, 24 of Mt. Carmel, after she was stopped in the 300 block of North Walnut Street. During the traffic stop it was determined that she was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Adams was transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was cited for driving suspended, and was held pending the posting of bond.
Next was Frank E. Shoultz, 42 of Mt. Carmel, who was arrested after police were dispatched to 930 Chestnut Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers were told that Shoultz had used his hands to choke his girlfriend over missing money. Shoultz was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged with aggravated domestic battery, and as of this morning was held pending the setting and posting of bond.
Demetra N. Taylor, 38 of Mt. Carmel, was arrested after she was stopped for speeding. During the traffic stop it was determined that she was driving on a suspended driver’s license and that the registration on the vehicle had been altered. Taylor was arrested and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged with Speeding, Driving While License is Suspended, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Unlawful Possession of a Temporary Registration knowing it to have been altered. Taylor was held pending the posting of bond.
