CREAL SPRINGS, Ill. - A ground search is underway for an elderly man in Creal Springs who has gone missing.
Authorities are looking for Robert Donaldson, who, it's being reported, suffers Alzheimer's and dementia. He is described as being 87 years, stands about five-foot-six, weighs in at 125 pounds, and has gray hair but pretty much always wears a hat.
He was last seen wearing a plaid shirt and blue jeans, and was last seen in the vicinity of his residence on Boundary Road. We don't have word on when he was last seen, but it was apparently earlier today (Wednesday, July 25). Our sources have advised our Williamson County correspondent that he likes to walk his property and the woods surrounding it.
Authorities from several agencies in Williamson, including Lake of Egypt Fire and Rescue and Illinois State Police, are working the ground search at this time, so if you are observing this commotion, that's why.
At about 5 p.m., an airplane had joined the search. At the command center, we were told that a helicopter would be searching later tonight.
Please be on the lookout for the elderly Donaldson, and please share this post on your social networking pages so as to get the word out sufficiently.
