CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - A shooting in the Crawford County community of Bellair north of Oblong has left one woman dead and two individuals - one her own daughter - in custody and charged with First Degree Murder.

Reports indicate that an Order of Protection was issued earlier in the day yesterday, Tuesday, July 24, for the victim in the shooting, Sandra Kendall, 62, against her daughter, Kristine Phillippe, 40, of Oblong.

As it turns out, Phillippe and another individual, Jason Strawbridge, 45, of North Carolina, were the ones arrested in the shooting.

Our sources advise that the two suspects had fled Kendall's Bellair residence after the shooting, which occurred at some point in time between 7 and 7:30 p.m.; authorities were alerted by a phone call reporting the incident, the details of which we don't have yet. The suspects were apprehended by a Robinson police officer, Jake Leek, who had left city limits on a mutual aid call. He was joined by another RPD Officer Floyd Brinkman, also called out on mutual aid. Those two officers stopped the vehicle Strawbridge and Phillippe were in, and took them in for questioning.

As a result, both Strawbridge and Phillippe admitted to the shooting, and they were lodged in the Crawford County Jail in Robinson, each on a single count of First Degree Murder. Strawbridge is facing additional charged of DUI-Alcohol and Improper Lane Usage, ostensibly for the way he was driving when officers apprehended him; Phillippe is facing an additional charge of Violation of an Order of Protection.

There's no word on how she got the black eye.

More as we get it; be watching.
