CLAY CO., Ill. - A driver and a passenger were flown to out-of-area hospitals Tuesday evening following a two-vehicle crash on Kinmundy Road in Clay County.

Illinois State Police report that the accident occurred at 5:29 p.m. Tuesday, July 24.

Preliminary investigative details indicate that a white 2006 Dodge Charger being driven by Jamie N. Colclasure, 29, of Edgewood, was traveling on Bethel Drive southbound approaching Kinmundy Road at that time. With Colclasure was Nick R. McCarty, 35, also of Edgewood.

ISP said Colclasure disobeyed the stop sign at Kinmundy Road and collided with a blue 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pulling a black 2007 Jerry trailer, being driven by Gabe L. Blair, 43, of Louisville, as it was passing westbound.

After impact, Colclasure's vehicle left the roadway to the right, coming to rest in the ditch. Blair's vehicle left the roadway and overturned in the left ditch.

Colclasure was flown to St. John's Hospital in Springfield; McCarty was flown to Deaconess in Evansville. Blair was transported by Clay County Ambulance to Clay County Hospital.

No charges nor citation have been issued, pending investigation.
