CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - A motorcyclist from Robinson was transported to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute after an accident yesterday evening on his bike.
Illinois State Police said the accident occurred at approximately 5:11 p.m. yesterday, Friday, July 20.
Preliminary investigative details, ISP said, involve a 1979 black Harley-Davidson motorcycle being operated by Randy A. Cox, 58 of Robinson, traveling eastbound on Route 33 near Crawford County Road 100E, where there is a large curve regular travelers through the area are familiar with.
While negotiating this curve, Cox lost control of the motorcycle, overcorrected, then started to skid off the south side of the roadway. The bike then began to flip end-over-end several times before coming to rest in the ditch.
Cox was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest next to it. He was flown to Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind., for treatment of injuries, which remain unspecified as of this morning.
Cox was later issued a citation by ISP for Improper Lane Usage.
