MARION, Ill. - The Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit is reporting another successful bust in the city, this one following a traffic stop.
The MPDNU said that earlier today (Monday,June 25) the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit arrested Malcolm D. Vuichard, 25, after he was identified to be a distributor of cannabis and found to be illegally in possession of a firearm and a large amount of cannabis and currency.
At approximately 11:00 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of Vinewood Lane and Pickett Lane. Vuichard was arrested for driving while license suspended and also found to be in possession of cannabis.
Upon completion of the traffic stop, detectives responded to Vuichard’s known residence, located in the 1000 block Kimberly Court. A search of the residence revealed approximately 1700 grams of cannabis, a semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun, weighing equipment, and packaging materials. Also seized during the incident was a large sum of United States Currency and a Vuichard’s vehicle.
Malcolm Vuichard was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail with pending charges of Possession of Cannabis with the intent to deliver 500-2000 grams, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Driving While License Suspended.
