WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - Do you have a burning desire to know what felonies were filed or disposed of in Williamson County, or what DUIs have been tended to in court even though they're not felonies...? You've come to the right place...it's FELONY FRIDAY!
It starts with a sex offense charge

Dumb Criminal of the Week…in someone else’s pants…?
Keith A Darter Jr., 37 of Herrin, is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine in this rather spectacular little incident. Darter called Herrin Police about a noise complaint. When the officer arrived, Darter and his wife were outside and told the officer the neighbor had been revving his motorcycle earlier, keeping them awake. The officer then advised Darter of an outstanding warrant in Williamson County and placed him in handcuffs, at which time he told his wife to remove his cell phone out of his pocket. The officer told her she wasn’t allowed to do so but could retrieve it later. The officer reached into Darter’s pocket and retrieved the phone…along with a baggie with a white crystal-like substance. While the officer was examining the baggie, Darter’s wife blurted out “Those aren’t his pants!!” The substance field tested positive for meth and Darter was transported to the Williamson County Jail.
Chad A. Newberry, 39, and Brittany E. Lindsey, 27 both of Carbondale, have been charged with Retail Theft after allegedly stealing a kayak. Warrants have been issued for their arrest after the two promised to come and speak to a detective at Marion PD and then didn’t show up.
