WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - A two-vehicle collision injured one driver and got another cited this morning in Williamson County.
Illinois State Police report that the accident occurred at 10:46 a.m. today, Saturday, June 16.
ISP said a 1991 Chevy S-10 pickup being driven by Robert Farmer, 34, of Johnston City, was traveling east on Illinois Route 13 at the intersection of 13 and Greenbrier Road. A 2012 Chrysler 200 being driven by Brianna Howell, 33, of Carterville, was traveling north on Greenbrier at the same intersection.
Farmer said he became distracted with objects within the vehicle and failed to stop at the red light on 13, striking the Chrysler as it entered into the intersection.
Howell was transported to Herrin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Farmer was cited for Failure to Yield at a Stop/Yield Intersection and No Valid Insurance.
