MARION, Ill. – The local narcotics unit has been extremely successful this past week in uncovering alleged unlawful substance trafficking, as this report by the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit (MPDNU) shows.
On May 30, the MPDNU began surveillance in the 1200 block of E. Reeves Street, the known residence of Travis L. Curry, 33, who was wanted out of Williamson County for multiple cocaine deliveries.
During the investigation Detectives observed Curry meet with Dylan C. Forbes, 19, and conduct a hand-to-hand exchange. Forbes departed the residence in his vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted after multiple traffic infractions were observed. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Forbes was found to be in possession of cocaine and cannabis.
Upon completion of the investigation, Dylan Forbes was conveyed to the Williamson County Jail with the pending charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Travis L. Curry was arrested on the above-mentioned warrant without incident and also conveyed to the Williamson County Jail.
On May 31, the MPDNU initiated an investigation involving Joseph B. Barnaby, 30, and Jeffery J. Jones, 37. During the investigation, detectives observed multiple traffic infractions on a vehicle being operated by Barnaby and that Jones was an occupant. During the incident, a search of the vehicle was conducted. Detectives located and seized methamphetamine, multiple controlled prescription tablets, and various articles of drug paraphernalia.
Today (June 7), a search warrant was executed at Jones’ residence, located in the 800 block of Jodi Lane. Detectives located additional controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, and ammunition.
Upon completion of the investigation, Jeffery Jones and Joseph Barnaby were conveyed to the Williamson County Jail, without incident. Barnaby was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. Jeffery Jones was charged with two counts of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition by a Felon.
