WHITE CO., Ill. - It was the typical fare for White County Sheriff's officials to deal with over the previous 24 hours, involving a report of a theft at an oil field location, some vandalism, and some repeat offending.

The oil field theft was reported yesterday morning (Tuesday, May 29) when Bryan Mobley called the sheriff's office, advising that Shawnee Oil would like to offer a reward for information that would lead to an arrest and conviction for the theft of their oilfield equipment stolen at some point in time between May 23 and yesterday.

Anyone with information should contact the White County Sheriff's Department at 618-382-5321, or sheriff@whitecounty-il.gov. As an incentive, a reward of a thousand dollars is being offered.

Also yesterday, at approximately 7:45 p.m., Deputy Scott Cantrell received a report of Criminal Damage to Property from Wesley Pierce, 28, in Enfield. Pierce stated that sometime Monday night, someone had slashed the tires on his 2003 Saturn SUV. Pierce stated that the driver's side front and rear tires had been slashed, and that a tire on another pickup was also slashed. Pierce stated he has security cameras, but it appeared someone had unplugged the cameras before committing the offense.

The singular arrest the sheriff's department handled occurred after an officer on routine patrol observed a white Chevy Impala leaving Pundrake's in Carmi at bout 7:13 p.m. last night

The deputy was familiar with the vehicle and knew it was usually driven by Tiffany Williford, 31, of Shipley Street in Carmi. He was also aware that Williford had a warrant issued in a 2018 White County misdemeanor case for attempted Retail Theft.

So the officer initiated a traffic stop on Williford and advised her of the warrant. He allowed her to leave her vehicle at Mears parking lot on Fifth Street, took her by a local resident's place to get bond (from Tommy Coke), then took her to the White County Jail to be processed.
