SALINE CO.—An order of protection has been issued by a First Judicial Circuit judge in the case of offspring of two south counties judges.
The OP was available online this morning (June 4, 2013) in Saline County circuit court as petitioned by Christine (Christy) Stewart, daughter of appellate court judge Bruce Stewart, against Jesse Nelson, son of former Saline County judge and state’s attorney, David Nelson, last week, May 30, 2013.
Sources on the story that appeared last night and was updated earlier today indicated that Stewart’s family was seeking a judge outside the Saline County area to issue the OP, as most of the judges had some kind of connection to both Stewart and Nelson over the years.
It’s unclear what’s contained in the OP (we haven’t seen the petition yet) but it’s understood that the Stewart family is seeking to keep Nelson away from Christy after Christy collapsed at a residence last week in Harrisburg and had to be taken away by ambulance, the victim of an apparent OD.
It’s unknown whether the family is blaming Nelson for this situation, but a source close to the story has advised Disclosure that Nelson wasn’t in the residence at the time of the incident.
