SALINE CO.—A source close to the situation with appellate judge Bruce Stewart’s daughter Christy has slid some information our way as an update to yesterday’s story.
The incident in question, we’ve been told, occurred Thursday afternoon (May 30), not Friday morning (May 31) as witnesses were advising yesterday (how that could be confused is at issue, but that’s what we’re being told). Stewart is reported to have been at a residence on the 300 block of East Locust in Harrisburg when she collapsed and was taken by ambulance for treatment, this with those on the block looking on.
Further, there was no argument, it’s been confirmed, that preceded her hospitalization, as reported in the linked article. There has been no elaboration into what prompted the transfer of Christy Stewart by ambulance to seek medical treatment, but all sources have been advising that it was an overdose situation, this not being disputed by the source close to the situation. According to this source, the previously-mentioned (in the linked article) Jesse Nelson, son of another judge, former judge and state’s attorney David Nelson, was not present in the house, but was at work at the time.
Fortunately, it appears by all accounts that Stewart did recover from the situation and is seeking help, and has the full support of her family.
Anything further, we’re just waiting for clarification regarding, and will bring it to you as we get it.
