WHITE CO., Ill. – White County Sheriff’s authorities worked a report of a stolen vehicle from a rural location in Grayville yesterday (Thursday, March 8).
White County Deputy George Spencer responded to the residence of Wendi M. Owen, 46, who stated that a silver 2000 Ford F150 had been stolen from the rural residence located on County Road 2400 North, a Grayville location.
Owen said that she’d been inside the residence between 6 and 10 p.m., which is when the vehicle would have been stolen, but she noted that she hadn’t heard anyone tampering with the vehicle, and she hadn’t heard the truck being driven off the property. The pickup was parked behind her residence, and it had had a trailer attached. However, the trailer was still behind the residence.
Grayville Police Officer Mike Brown had been involved in a vehicle pursuit with this pickup at approximately 8:43 p.m. last night. Brown told White County that he lost sight of the vehicle at approximately 8:54 p.m. and he terminated the pursuit at that point. Brown had advised Owen of this incident during a traffic stop of a vehicle in which she was a passenger, this at approximately 10:08 p.m. This lead Owen to believe the pickup must have been stolen between 6 p.m. and the beginning of the pursuit.
Owen gave a few more details about the vehicle, which included some blue tape painted red covering the passenger side taillight of the pickup. As well, Owen told authorities that she had not given anyone permission to drive her vehicle.
She wished to report the vehicle as being stolen, and it was entered into the LEADS/NCIC database as such.
If you have information about the stolen vehicle, you are urged to contact the White County Sheriff’s Department at 618-382-5321.
