CARMI, Ill. - In the Carmi police report issued this morning, a woman with a record of theft of unsurprisingly arrested arrested Friday afternoon on a charge of Retail Theft.
Police reports show that Carmi police were called to the Dollar General Store on West Main at 1:11 p.m. Friday, March 2, after a store employee reported what she believed to be a sticky-fingered "shopper" stuffing items in her purse and walking out of the store without paying.
When authorities arrived a few minutes later they stopped April Spoonemore, 39, of Perry Street in Carmi, and took her into custody on an arresting charge of Retail Theft.
Carmi PD noted in their report that this is a felony charge due to a prior felony conviction of theft. As of this afternoon she remained locked up at the White County Jail in Carmi.
