MARION, Ill. - No need to check your weather app for lunar phases; all you have to do is look at the behaviors going on in some of the local arrest reports to see that the moon is full.
This was the case last night in the city of Marion, when a Marion woman was taken into custody by city police just before 9:30 p.m. and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
Beverly Carvell, 55, resides at Motel Marion. A friend, Tony Lott, was visiting and she wanted him to walk with her to the liquor store to purchase some beer.
The two left the motel and met up with a female friend of Lott's along the way. The female (who asked not to be identified) said Carvell was mean to her and cussing at her saying stuff like "What’d you say b!tch" and the like.
Just as they were passing Centerstone on West Main - which is over half way to the liquor store - Carvell became agitated and retrieved an ink pen from her purse and allegedly attempted to stab Lott.
Witnesses and employees from Centerstone saw the incident and, being well acquainted with Carvell, encouraged Lott to press charges.
Lott praised the officer who handled the case, saying he was impressed with the way he handled everything, being very respectful to him.
Carvell is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $120 cash bond.
