JODY STIFLE TO BE RELEASED FROM DOC; NEW CHARGES TO BE FILED

CRAWFORD CO.—It appears that Crawford County thug Jody Stifle is going to have an eventful weekend.

According to sources in Crawford, Stifle, almost 36, who was charged last year for his part in the beating of Harley Walters-Johnson in Oblong, despite what his DOC file online indicates, has already been released and is sitting in the county jail, looking at being hemmed up once again.

Jody/Jodi Stifle. He plays the name game...but I'll betcha he was "Jodi" in prison, which might account for how rough he looks in his most recent DOC mug

Stifle was convicted of a dope charge dating back to 2011 earlier this year, this in light of the charges that stemmed from Walters’ beating, which you can see here and here. The second one was then he was in jail and was allegedly threatening the investigating officer, Oblong police chief Chad Pusey, with physical harm.

Because Crawford County elects its public defender to the state’s attorney position every eight or so years, and because all the either state’s attorneys or public defenders eventually ascend to a judgeship at about the same time, it creates a conflict for accused people the likes of which we just don’t see in other counties. So when Matt Hartrich was elected this past November, it posed a problem for Stifle’s prosecution, and the Special Prosecution Unit in Springfield had to be brought in on the matter in order to supply an attorney, since Hartrich couldn’t prosecute the case. Of course, they sent the increasingly-more-useless David “Rollover” Rands, who, true to his nickname, dismissed the Battery and Threatening charges against Stifle for no reason whatsoever, and prompted outrage among Crawford Countians who knew what was going on. So they made repeated calls to the appellate prosecutor’s office, and the whole thing was re-thought: And the SHU sent in Ed Parkinson, the pit bull of prosecutors out of Springfield, to handle Stifle’s case.

And this, we understand, is going to occur as soon as lil Jody/Jodi gets settled in from his five months in DOC.

When we learn about any re-filing being done, we’ll bring it to you right here. In the meantime, the likelihood that Jody/Jodi is going to be up to badness before he gets arrested on the new warrants is a very strong one, since his birthday is Sunday and all. Be looking for updates; it should be very interesting in Crawford County.
