SALINE CO.—We’re working on learning why accused child molester James G. Roberts of Eldorado is back in the hoosegow.
This is according to a new charge that we noticed popped up on judici last week, wherein Roberts is facing a third felony, that of Escape as it regards an electronic monitoring device. That generally means that he either went outside the bounds of the electronic monitoring device, or he cut it off. Either way, it’s not made clear in the online charges, and so we’re trying to get in touch with someone who can tell us what the charge is based upon exactly. The new charge is a felony, as are his other charges of sex offenses against children.
Regular readers will recall that Roberts, an elderly Eldorado gent now 70 years of age, was charged back in March with multiple child sex offenses when kids whose families he befriended began coming forward and telling what he was allegedly doing to them, in a couple of cases dating back several months. The case prompted an uproar in ‘rado, as so many people have known Roberts for so many years and many came forward, expressing how “weird” they believed he was (except, of course, for his daughter, who raged about how none of it was the case.)
When we learn more about the new felony, we’ll bring it to you, either here at the site or in the print version/e-Edition…be watching.
