Here are your print headlines for the May-June 2013 edition of Disclosure, on stands now throughout our coverage area and available in the e-Edition, which you can enjoy from the comfort of your own computer by simply signing up for an online membership. Each print headline is preceded by a dateline (where the incident in the article occurred) and followed by a brief synopsis; and, as is our newest feature, a link from the headline of the article right to the e-Edition version.

Jesteen Weiler

Jesteen Weiler and her assets. Somewhat expensive, we hear.

CLAY CO.—Tragedy follows ATV death: There appears to have been a tragedy for little Lily Jones, age 2, following the one that occurred April 15 that resulted in the death of her mother…and this one has taken her away from her father. Read the article that didn’t appear anywhere else online, as we worked it right up until deadline for the print version…and no other media in the area is going to touch this.

HARRISBURG—What lies ahead for Harrisburg?: There is a lot of corruption in Saline and surrounding counties…and something is happening that’s uncovering it and speeding up exponentially. We know what it is, and that will come forth in due time; but in the meantime, this article prepares you with a lead-up to who might give up their “seat on the bus.”

U.S. DIST. COURT, BENTON/BRIDGEPORT—Former mayor now a federal convict: Max Schauf, proving us right after ten years of our coverage of his criminal activities in the city of Bridgeport. Be watching who we’re calling “criminals” these days…in a couple of years, they’ll be indicted, too.

Adonna Bennett

EDGAR CO.—More stink raised over airport lease: Our Heartland offering for the month, and it’s a doozy: former county board chairman Adonna Bennett kinda immersed herself in hot water with those fed up with corruption in Edgar when she made a nine-minute presentation to the board in early May. Read why this happened, and what it means for the airport authority.

HARDIN CO.—Deputy relieved of duty; backlash over background, but facts can’t be changed: The spotlight’s on Tom Maynor once again, and it’s showing a lot of dirt we never had before.

ALBION—Fire house construction halted; contract invalid: The massive debacle in Albion, prompted by former firefighters who somehow came to be under the mistaken impression that their feces didn’t stink, has not only stopped the construction of the new fire department, but has also caused former mayor Ryan Hallam’s actions to come into question. Now all that remains to be seen is what the authorities are going to do about it.

The perpetually ape-like Jonathan Trout

The perpetually ape-like Jonathan Trout

RICHLAND CO.—Catch-and-release Trout hemmed up as of mid-June: The repulsive Earp gang hits the headlines again, this time as the youngest, Jonathan Trout, has agreed to spend a few months in DOC after violating the sex offender registration rules in two counties, and beating up one person after another.

EGYPT

WHITE CO.—TRIAL FOR COSTON IS OFF FOR MAY: After Judge Tom Foster insisted on setting a jury trial date for Danny K. Coston several weeks ago, the May 21 date is off because defense attorneys are still trying to convince the powers-that-be—and maybe themselves—that Danny Coston is insane…or at least was at the time of the murders of Jacob Wheeler and Jessica Evans.

GALLATIN CO.—Boy known as ‘problem child’ in Gallatin wrecks at rural location, sends girlfriend to hospital: More information on the situation with Andrew Cox, whose alleged high-speed antics at Garden of the Gods a few weekends ago caused grave problems for himself and a passenger, Paige Coonse.

SALINE CO.—Lawyer’s nephew turns himself in: Madison Medley, it’s been confirmed, has turned himself in over a stunt involving Terry Mott’s business. What will come of it, however, remains to be seen.

GALLATIN CO.—Village police chief gets slap on the wrist for violence: As we predicted, Nick Rider is out of any serious charges he was facing back in March.

SALINE CO.—Accused rapist has half his face removed in Springfield surgery: We’d like to report that someone ripped Matthew Connors’ face right off his head, but that’s only about half accurate, and it wasn’t anyone who had anything to do with his alleged rape victims. The full story here.

HARDIN CO.—“Wenzel weed” heir busted on meth charges: Nick Wenzel. Shoulda took up after his dad with the Hardin County volcanic-soil-weed and not got involved in the poison known as meth.

hamilton, ian

Ian Hamilton

SALINE CO.—Where ‘somewhere in Harrisburg’ did auto altercation take place?: The fight between Kyle Day and punk Ian Hamilton went down in a moving vehicle, this according to authorities…but WHERE was the car when it was moving, other than “somewhere” on the streets of the ‘burg? People really do want to know this.

SALINE CO.—Couple face drug charges: Strange little story leads our drug round-up out of Saline.

HAMILTON CO.—Drug convict busted selling pills to confidential source: Hamilton County dope roundup.

SALINE CO.—Urination lands underage drinker in the clink: Nothing strange about peeing in the middle of the road, right? Well, actually…yeah, it is, especially when the cops are passing by. This story is a must-read for the names of these children alone, as people are coming up with more and more bizarre ways to spell said names.

SALINE CO.—Doper felon charged following burglaries: You’d think being in the pages of Disclosure before for the EXACT SAME THING would be bad enough…but this dumbass apparently can’t get enough of the negative publicity.

WHITE CO.—Theft and violence loom large in White: Apparently the full moon had a really bad impact on some of the weaker-minded crims in White these past 30 days.

HARRISBURG—VANDALISM SHATTERS GLASS: Pictoral content of the damage in Harrisburg in early May, when someone took a BB gun to plate glass windows in town.

David Compton

David Compton

WHITE CO.—Meth kingpin jailed: The vile David Compton, said to be one of the most prolific drug-movers in downstate, hemmed up again, this time in White….and we wish they’d KEEP him.

WHITE CO.—Trio charged with mob action in wake of beating: Another full moon story, apparently…or else Carmi is becoming Old Shawneetown North.

GALLATIN CO.—Shoot-out lands one back in prison and another on probation: And speaking of Shawneetown….here’s one involving one of our readers, a Mr. Capeheart.

SALINE CO.—Bra stash: Female crims in Harrisburg, gotta do what they gotta do.

HEARTLAND

FLOOD 2013: CLARK/CRAWFORD/LAWRENCE: Pictoral content of flood photos from the Wabash that occurred at the end of April

CRAWFORD—Woman cited for DUI-drugs in fatal collision: The mess Joyce Hardiman has made of her life….allegedly, of course.

EDGAR/CLARK COs.—Merger of transit authorities being discussed: Here’s something you don’t see every day: The RIDES Mass Transit Authority in Harrisburg is in talks with Central Illinois Mass Transit to merge the two, since not very many people are inclined to “take the bus” around the country routes.

JASPER CO.—Drug bust snags meth conspirators: LOTS of meth-making going on in Jasper County. Here’s one way the authorities are getting a handle on it.

CRAWFORD CO.—Arsonist sought: Sheriff Todd Liston, making a plea to the arsonist who struck locations in Heathsville and Flat Rock.

CRAWFORD CO.—Sex offenders with weapons and pair popped with pills highlight crime report: Crim roundup in Crawford is exactly what the headline says.

CRAWFORD CO.—Social media impacts sheriff’s presentation to county board: Be the Robinson Insider never thought they’d make the agenda of the Crawford County board…but they did.

CLARK CO.—Cannabis cases king in Clark: As if the alliteration in that headline wasn’t enough, the two in question are from Casey.

NEWTON—Newton council to use health department services: Meeting coverage of the Newton City Council, where they’re going to be taking advantage of the Jasper County Health Department and hopefully save the city some money.

CENTRAL

LAWRENCE CO.—Guilty verdict in two-week murder trial: Print coverage of the Tyler McQueen murder trial; you have to read this to get what happened at the end of it, because it could mean more time and money spent on this case, and no one else, as usual, is saying it.

CLAY CO.—Speedy trial set in murder case: The odd case of Denny Blanchard, as featured on the front page last month, has taken a “speedy” turn…and one that’s bad for the defense, as prosecutorial pit bull Mike Vujovich has been called in to assist Marilyn Brant with the case.

CLAY CO.—LIGHTNING STRIKES, FIRE IGNITES: Pictoral of the massive fire that ensued after lightning struck a tank battery in north Clay in early May.

LAWRENCE CO.—No charges filed in alleged assault case: Nothing yet on the situation with Dennis York, who is accused of battering Lawrence County prosecutor Chris Quick in late March.

RICHLAND CO.—Publisher pushes for resolution in bogus OP case: Continuation of the ridiculous OP judge Kim Harrell allowed the questionable neighbors of the Disclosure crew to have a year ago…and what the fight might mean for future journalists.

RICHLAND CO.—Habitual drug crim busted again as pot and pills fill blotter: The Richland County drug roundup…and it’s heavy-duty.

LAWRENCE CO.—Mayor’s brother punched: Chuckwagon Charlie got a faceful of fist here recently…and then there’s the crim who allegedly beat the prison guard at Lawrence Correctional, whacked-out hair and all.

LAWRENCE CO.—Further charges filed against Lawrenceville resident accused of 2012 sexual misconduct: More charges against Skip Davis. Which makes folks ponder: who’s been “covering” for Skip all these years?

LAWRENCE CO.—STREET SERENADE: Pictoral of what was going on during the week of the Tyler McQueen trial, late April.

WABASH CO.—Violence, drugs and prosecutor pickin and choosin: Cassandra Goldman, still not doling out justice fair and across the board in WabCo.

LAWRENCE CO.—Repeat Aten doper, DeCausey and wannabes to drug blotter: The dop roundup in Lawrence, and some big names have, like turds, floated to the top.

WAYNE CO.—Sex crimes charged: When does a month go by when there ISN’T a sex crime charged in Wayne? This wouldn’t be one of them.

RICHLAND CO.—Why didn’t the sheriff want you to know about this?: The wreck at the Claremont turn off U.S. 50. Which, of course, is made obsolete because we got the FOIA response the day after the paper came out, which is what Andy Hires does.

WAYNE CO.—Foul mouth drunk busted: What drunk in Wayne County ISN’T foul-mouthed, we ask you.

RICHLAND CO.—Sex abuse confession snubbed, charges dismissed: Court appointed attorney soaks taxpayers: Very quietly, the charges of sexual abuse of a young girl as filed against a Noble woman were dismissed a few months ago. in this article, we have the full story of how her court-appointed attorney didn’t do the public any favors, but sure did line his pockets with OUR cash.

CLAY CO.—Inmate with MRSA granted reduced bond and sent to home confinement: Just another typical day in the county jail system.

EDWARDS CO.—Teen gets seven years for burglary, theft: The improbable badness of a couple of Edwards County punks, who’ve started life in the wrong direction early.
