LAWRENCE CO.—Contrary to news we received this morning, Lou Satterthwaite is indeed alive and in an Evansville hospital as of this afternoon, Friday, May 17, 2013.
His status, however, is reported as “not doing very good,” this according to a county official who has been able to make the appropriate phone calls and reach folks we weren’t able to this morning. An initial call to the circuit clerk’s office, where Lou’s cousin Peggy Fredericks is the circuit clerk and was absent this morning, had it that Lou, owner/operator of Lou’s Restaurant in Bridgeport, was deceased, was apparently misinformation (likely NOT intentional, as we trust the little gal we talked to).
Our county official just called to advise that Lou was found unresponsive this morning by an ambulance crew after he missed his bus route for the local school system.
Lou was transported to an Evansville hospital, where it’s suspected he’s suffered some kind of brain problem, possibly an aneurysm, but the exact cause is unknown.
We apologize for any grief or consternation the previous post may have caused…but we reiterate our assertions about Lou—he’s one of the finest people we’ve ever known, and when he pulls through this, he’ll probably laugh his ass off at being declared deceased for a couple of hours.
