Carbondale resident among several issued warrants, including out-of-county, in Clay

CLAY CO., Ill. - Clay County lead the way in rounding up folks in their midst wanted on out-of-county warrants...as well as nabbing out-of-county folks on local warrants.

The former leads the Clay County Sheriff's Office report, when on August 4, Jamika Glover, 22, Carbondale, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Failure to Wear Seatbelt. Bond set at $1,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. Glover posted bond and was released.

Aug. 5, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 7:04 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Rt. 45 and Chestnut Street in Louisville. Apparently Madisyn Williams, 18, Imperial, Missouri, operating a 2017 Hyundi Accent entered the intersection and failed to see a 1997 Ford F350 truck operated by Joseph L. Ruholl, 80, Effingham, and the Ruholl vehicle collided with the Williams vehicle. Minor injuries reported.

Aug. 6, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 12:55 p.m. at the intersection of Kinmundy Road and Hayes Street in Louisville. Apparently Matt Bible, 49, Louisville, operating a 2015 Ford F150, was backing onto the Kinmundy Road and did not observe that a 2003 Dodge Caravan operated by Amanda Haskins, 36, Louisville had also entered traffic, striking the Haskins vehicle. No injuries reported.

Aug. 6, Kenneth Sanders, 42, Sumner, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of D.U.I. Bond set at $1,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

Out-of-county warrants surrounded the next report: On Aug. 6, a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Jacob McGuire, 24, Altamont, on two outstanding warrants. One from Fayette County for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Use Forged Credit/Debit Card. Bond set at $1,500.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. The second warrant from Effingham County for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Burglary. Bond set at $2,500.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. McGuire was unable to bond and was transported to Effingham County Jail.

Jeremiah Leigh

Aug. 7, a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Jeremiah Leigh, 29, Clay City, for Violation of Bail Bond on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent). Leigh is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

Aug. 8, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 6:48 a.m. east of the intersection of Old U.S. Hwy 50 and Davenport in Xenia. Apparently William L. Carlock, 29, Fairfield, operating a 2000 Chrysler Van, was traveling westbound on Old Hwy 50 and the lug nuts came off his front passenger side tire, causing it to project into the front passenger quarter panel of a 2012 operated by Gary Lagle, 69, Flora. Minor injuries reported.
