CRAWFORD CO.—Reports of a collision involving at least one motorcycle—and maybe two—in the Oblong area of Crawford County have been confirmed by sheriff’s department officials.

We’re still learning details of the wreck, however, and right now, all we have are scanner listener reports as regards any information further than what the sheriff’s department has confirmed.

Our sources are reporting that the accident occurred south of Oblong, and involved two cycles. Reports indicate that the two may have both been from Richland County. It’s being reported that both were air-evac’d, about five minutes apart, and both in the same direction. Head injuries have been reported; it’s unknown if the riders were wearing helmets or not.

UPDATE 9 p.m.

Our sources have indicated that Gene “Geno” Luther and Kelly Taylor were on the motorcycle that was hit; a man name Jim (no last name known at this time) struck the cycle Luther and Taylor were on. Taylor and Jim were the ones airlifted; Jim is responding, no word on Taylor except she apparently has a broken hip. Luther is in Robinson complaining of back pain but is in good condition.

When we get more, we’ll post it. If you know anything, feel free.
