EFFINGHAM CO., Ill. - Four people were sent to St. Anthony's in Effingham after a three-vehicle collision in the dreaded construction zone of Interstate 70 earlier Thursday.

ISP District 12 said the accident occurred at 4:01 p.m. Thursday afternoon, august 3.

A white 2007 Freightliner truck-tractor semi trailer being operated by Daniel Castillo, 55, of Edcouch, Texas; a white 200o International truck being driven by Dean L. McClellan, 61, of Sigel; and a silver 2018 Volvo truck-tractor semi trailer being driven by Michael Dwane Hickman, 50, of Houston, Texas, were stopped in traffic eastbound on I-70 at milepost 103 due to the construction zone.

A red 2016 Freightliner truck-tractor semi-trailer being driven by Christopher Todd Rogers, 51, of Indianapolis, was approaching the stopped traffic and didn't stop before running into the back of the 2007 Freightliner.

That Freightliner was pushed forward into the International truck, which was pushed into the back of the Volvo truck.

McClellan and a passenger, George W. Sehi, 61, also of Sigel, were entrapped in the International truck.

Rogers, McClellan and Sehi, and Hickman were transported to St. Anthony's Hospital by Effingham County Ambulance.

Rogers was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to avoid an Accident and Operating Vehicle While Wearing a Headset.

McClellan was cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.
