SALINE CO., Ill. - Authorities still have no information to issue regarding the body found in a vehicle in a ditch on Walnut Grove Road last week.

Mowing crews found the car, which was in what was described as a "deep ditch" and it appeared it had been there at that location for some time.

While not elaborating on any of that, Coroner Jerry Doug Watson told a Disclosure staffer this afternoon that there was no way to give the deceased individual's identity yet because the state lab hasn't gotten back with results yet.

Watson said they had to go that route for identification, and it's being done by the state lab, and on DNA, and that, Watson said, is a time-involving thing.

Watson said he doesn't have any idea how long the process will take, and asks everyone to be patient, as authorities don't want to turn the remains over to the wrong family. When we learn anything, we'll post.
