CARMI, Ill. - A Carmi man is locked up today following an altercation in the overnight hours of Saturday, July 28, that resulted in two 911 calls regarding it.
Officers responded to two separate calls at 811 North Seventh Street in Carmi after it was reported that one Jamie Browning, 38, was involved in a physical altercation with Sandra L. Browning, ostensibly his wife.
Sandra, 33, signed a complaint against Jamie stating that he had shoved her, held her down on the bed to keep her from leaving, and had taken her cell phone to keep her from calling 911.
Documents don't show who it was that made the two separate calls.
Mr. Browning was taken in on a felony Unlawful Restraint charge, as well as misdemeanor Domestic Battery and Interfering with Domestic Violence Report.
He was being held on a $1,500 bail as of early this afternoon.
