CRAWFORD CO., Ill. - One of the six kids involved in a fatal car crash Wednesday afternoon has posted something very profound on his Facebook page, and given the level of response to the news story late last night, we thought it was a good idea to help him spread the word, as there are a lot of assumptions going on following the crash.

Because he posted it in the open, it appears here in its entirety via Fair Use Act. The photos accompanying the piece are of the young man who penned it, Max Williamson, also in the open at his Facebook page, and are here under FUA.

Here's his information. Photos are interspersed. Please be advised that they're graphic.

Here's the full crash story:
5 of my friends and I were cruising out in the country listening to music. As we drove on blacktop, it quickly switched to gravel road. We hit the gravel and started to lose control of the car. We started speeding toward a tree line. As we moved towards the tree, the car flipped and this is where I and 2 others were thrown through the back door of the car. I was the last one to go. As I flew through the door my foot hit the speaker and wires curled around my ankle. I hit the ground hard, which probably fractured my skull, and was likely dragged which caused the scalping. The hard landings probably caused the bruising and damaging to my lungs, hip and neck. My friend Blaze heroically pushed through the shock and pain and woke everyone up. He pulled me out of the rubble.

Max' cuts...nearly a scalping

I was picked up in an ambulance and flown by helicopter to another hospital about 2 hours from the crash site. Blaze made it out with a gash on his elbow that was quickly sewn up and he was sent home. My friend Logan was flown to the same hospital as I and has sustained some bodily damage but mostly emotional. My friend Jessi made it out with broken legs, nose and rib. My friend Corina made it out with a broken leg. I made it out with a fractured skull, bruised lung, tons of gashes and some hip and neck soreness. Sadly, the driver Lexi was killed in the crash. She was 16 years old. She was a very kind and amazing person. I had not known her personally for long but seeing her lying there and thinking of her gone will have a toll on me for a very very long time.

If I, or any of the other passengers had there seatbelts buckled, we would have been killed in the crash. Our lack of safety saved our lives. Most importantly though, please send continued prayers to everyone who was affected by the crash and especially Lexi's family. I am doing very well. I will probably be released tomorrow. Thank you for all the love and support guys seriously. I love you all. As soon as I recover its full speed ahead with music.

We wish Max all the best, and hope he and his friends recover soon. Our sympathies are with Lexi's family.
