MARION, Ill. - Another tactical entry has gained the Marion Police Department Narcotics Unit (MPDNU) another arrest...and the seizure of an amount of evidence in a residence in that town.
The situation occurred earlier today (Thursday, May 8), when the MPDNU, with the assistance of the Herrin Police Department, executed a search warrant in the 400 block of S. Liberty Street.
A tactical entry was conducted to gain entry into the residence with the assistance of the Marion Police Department Emergency Response Team.
A search of the residence was conducted and officers recovered and seized approximately one half pound of cannabis, various packaging materials and weighing equipment, two firearms and a sum of United States currency.
Andrae C. Jackson, 29, was located and arrested at the residence. Jackson was issued citations for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver 30-500 grams and Felon in Possession of a Weapon.
Andrae Jackson was arrested and transported to the Williamson County Jail without incident, awaiting future court proceedings.
It should be noted that this is the second search warrant executed by the MPDNU at Jackson’s residence, within the last six months. During the December 8, 2016 search warrant, Jackson was arrested for Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Deliver 30-500 grams and Felon in Possession of ammunition.
Interestingly, Jackson was the victim in this shooting at a local bar in February; hit that link to see that story.
