HUTSONVILLE—We were hoping that with the water levels falling up in Old York yesterday, Hutsonville might not be far behind, but apparently that’s not the case.
DOT has confirmed that the highway leading from Hutsonville into Indiana (Highway 154) has been closed due to massive flooding; as well, we’re hearing of worries of levee failure on the Indiana side across the Wabash from Hutsonville.
Of course if that happens, the water levels on the Illinois side in affected areas of Clark County (old York), Crawford County (Hutsonville and Palestine) and Lawrence County (Westport/Russellville) will drop. However, the damage is still done. Check our posts here and here for ways you can help with relief efforts.
