CRAWFORD CO.—A group of Robinson residents have issued information about what they’re collecting for the flood victims in their county (Old York and Palestine).
From Pattie Murphy:
This is what we have worked out so far for drop off points -
Ashley Keesling has spoken to the Palestine board members and tomorrow (Saturday, April 27) at the Pioneer Room in Palestine, she and other volunteers will be accepting cleaning supplies or “flood buckets” from 9-11a.m. Please pass the word and share to get the word out.
Kathy Gonzalez would like to add that if you can’t make the time that
Ashley Keesling will be in the Pioneer Room tomorrow, you can bring them to the Palestine Police Dept. I am there from 8- noon Mon-Fri. or to the Village Hall from 9-3 Mon-Fri. Margaret Littlejohn will be there to take them as well.
The Red Queen Consignments in Palestine is also a drop-off point.
In Robinson you can drop off items at Epic Ink Tattoo Shop on South Cross. They are also running a special right now, which is as follows -
If you bring one of the disaster recovery buckets to Epic Ink, you may get a $50 tattoo or a gift certificate for a $50 tattoo for later use if you do not want the tattoo done immediately or you may pass the certificate to someone else to be used at a later date.
Any and all supplies are appreciated beyond that!
Disaster Recovery Bucket consists of:
One five-gallon bucket with resealable lid
Five scouring pads
Seven sponges, assorted sizes
One scrub brush
Eighteen cleaning towels (reusable, like Easy Wipes®)
One 50-78 oz. box dry laundry detergent
One 12 oz. bottle of liquid concentrated household cleaner (like Lysol®)
One 25 oz. bottle liquid disinfectant dish soap (like Dawn®)
One package of 48-50 clothespins
Clothesline, two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.
Five dust masks
Two pairs latex gloves (like Playtex®)
One pair work gloves
28-bag roll of heavy-duty trash bags (30-45 gallon)
One 6-9 oz. bottle of insect repellent (pump, drops or lotion, not aerosol)
Place all liquids in new, unopened plastic bottles. Be sure to pack only new materials. Place all items in the plastic bucket, making sure they are packed securely to avoid damage during storage, and seal lid with packing tape.
For the west part of Crawford County who want to help—they can take donated items to Bill Burke’s Furniture and More in Oblong and Bill will get them where they need to go.
