GALLATIN CO.—We’re gathering reports on a car crash occurring over the weekend on the Gallatin County side of Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest.
As of right now, what we know is that Andrew Cox, 19, of Gallatin County, is sitting in the White County Jail after the wreck that reportedly sent Paige Coonse to a St. Louis hospital via helicopter, this occurring yesterday, Sunday, April 21 early in the morning, about 7 a.m. from what we’re being told.
Cox got in trouble in Saline County just this past December, having a DUI arrest and with an underage girl with him at the time. Lucky him; he was able to get a DUI, drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, unlawful consumption of alcohol and operating uninsured pled down to speeding. That’s right; speeding. Here it is right here. So you can’t say those Coxes aren’t connected in Gallatin (it’s been reported to us by one source that he’s related to coroner Tony Cox; another source says he’s not, but we have some people working on that aspect of it).
White is holding him on Gallatin charges, so we’ll see what happens with this one, and how seriously Paige is hurt. Check back frequently, we’ll bring updates as we can get them.
