WHITE CO., Ill. - A Hamilton County warrant for Failure to Appear on a Possession of Meth charge was handled Friday in White County courtesy of a gent who came in to post bond for someone else.
White County Sheriff's Office reports indicate that at approximately 4 p.m. Friday (February 17), Robert Belka, 26, of Carmi, came to the lobby of the sheriff's office to post bond for one Tarryn Browning, 19, also of Carmi.
Deputy Scott Cantrell, who was on duty, was aware that there was a warrant out of Hamilton County for Belka's arrest on FTA on the meth possession charge dating back to 2015, and asked dispatch to confirm the warrant.
At the same time, Carmi officer Donna Huber made contact with Belka outside the sheriff's office and advised him of the warrant. Belka was taken to the jail to be processed for the warrant, and was able to post $250 for his own release.
Documents don't show whether or not he was able to spring Browning, or whether someone else did, but she's not on the jail roster as of this morning. Whatever the case, she's set to appear in a couple of weeks on a review of her Criminal Damage to Property case, to which she entered a guilty plea in late October 2016.
No upcoming date had yet been set for Belka.
