SALEM, Ill. - Formal charges may be pending against a Salem man in an incident late Thursday night at the city's McDonald's.

According to police, Quintin D. Goostree, 21, was at the McD's Thursday, December 22, when shortly before 10 p.m., after he'd walked out of the restaurant, he pulled out a weapon and fired a couple of rounds into the air, then left.

Authorities caught up with him at an apartment at the Mills Crossing apartment complex. He had a .45-cal with him, and it was seized; authorities had found shell casings on the parking lot of McD's.

Goostree was taken into custody on arresting counts of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Unlawful Use of a Firearm. He was jailed but apparently able to post bond a little after 11:30 p.m.

Goostree has no significant criminal history.

There's been no information on what on earth may have prompted the alleged display; if you were in the area and saw/heard it, feel free to comment.
