HAMILTON/FRANKLIN COs., Ill. - The McLeansboro man alleged  to have caused a vehicle crash after a high-speed chase was located mid-week this pas week.

In typical Franklin County style (meaning: delayed reporting), most news outlets learned this weekend that Travis W. Braden, 30, was located late Wednesday night (December 14) about 11:40 p.m. in the attic of a home in Thompsonville.

Authorities are saying only that Franklin County authorities were called to the home - at an undisclosed address - on a call of a domestic.

How they came to be aware that he was in the attic also went unreported.

Braden, when he was involved in the November 30 crash which we reported on here, was on parole. He was alleged to have left the crash scene on foot. He had allegedly stolen the car he was in from a location in McLeansboro.

Altogether, he's looking at a failure to appear for Possession of Meth, Obstruction of Justice, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, Reckless Driving, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, Speeding, and of course, being a parolee and getting hemmed up on all of the above. Hopefully DOC will tend properly to him, as it's a pretty sure bet Franklin won't; but maybe the vehicle theft in Hamilton will tend to it properly thanks to Justin Hood, their prosecutor, who doesn't shirk when it comes to charges.
