CARBONDALE, Ill. - An early-morning armed robbery at a convenience store in the city of Carbondale is being investigated today.
According to sources in the city, authorities notified other convenience store operators and employees of the robbery shortly after it occurred, at about 2 a.m., when the Circle K on Walnut Street was robbed at gunpoint by two individuals. They were described as black males wearing masks. Not much more information about their descriptions or actions was made available.
The area of Walnut Street where this particular Circle K is located has been the scene of many crimes on an increasing rate in the past couple of years; robberies and gunplay being the predominant complaints.
