This was sent to us by a concerned parent in the Bloomington school district.
His exact quote was: "That's a letter I got this past week from my daughter's school--this is what you deal with when you live in the most obnoxious leftist enclave in the state."
We are acquainted with Diane Sroka Benjamin, who has taken on the endemic corruption in that city and has made considerable progress exposing that corruption, but of course, you can't get it to STOP, you can only just tell others about it and hope that eventually, enough people will get fed up and vote out the ones committing the corruption.
But there are SO MANY levels of government to uncover and expose. And generally speaking, school districts are lower on the list.
Whatever the case, you can view the letter at this link, and for those who might not be able to view it due to Android-related "This page cannot be displayed" crap (we have that issue with one of our phones...Ang detests iPhones and clings obsessively to her BlackBerry), we're reproducing it here in full.

Dear Cougar Family,
As we prepare to head into Thanksgiving Break at the end of this week, I hope that each of you will have the opportunity to gather with family and friends to celebrate and reflect on all of the wonderful things we have to be thankful for, both individually and collectively.
One of the hallmarks of BHSN has always been the wonderful diversity of our student body. Regardless of our individual differences, BHSN has been a place where everyone can get a high quality education and can find success in the pursuit of their individual interests and talents.
I wanted to take a moment to keep you up to date. We are actively working with our students and faculty to ensure that we are fostering an environment where everyone feels safe, welcome, important and supported at BHSN.
As we all process the events from the last two weeks, I want you to know that we have been meeting with groups of students, with the assistance of outside consultants, to talk through how we can all come together and strengthen the ties that bind us together as a school community. We are specifically discussing how we can promote respect for everyone, regardless of their beliefs or values. As we work toward this common understanding, it is important to remember that we will not tolerate bullying, harassment, intimidation, or hate speech directed at staff members, students or groups of individuals.
In addition, we are working with our faculty on how we can improve our culturally responsive practices as educators. We have to continue to model the kind of respect and compassion, for all students, that we expect them to show to each other.
No doubt, this is a challenging time in our society. We see poor examples from adults every day in the news, and our students are struggling to make sense of what they see and hear. We can all agree that we prefer to be treated with respect and kindness by others. We must all continue to guide our students toward treating others with that same level of respect and kindness. We also understand that this is a process, and that these issues take time to resolve. We are committed to working with our students and staff to continuously improve our school for all.
Please do your part by remembering to: Respect Yourself, Respect Others, Be Responsible for Your Own Actions, and Remember... It’s Great to be a Cougar!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.
Jeffry M. Henderson

So what do you think of this? Is this a kind, heartwarming, encouraging letter to students and families...? Or is this the institutionalized version of social justice warriors-in-training, trying to gently tell "families" that they need to watch out for trigger warnings and ensure that their special little snowflakes have their "safe spaces," puppy therapy, essential oils and hot chocolate waiting for them in case little snowflake happens to have been offended when overhearing someone talk about President-elect Trump and his win....?
