LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. - A Lawrenceville man was transported to Good Sam in Vincennes after a crash that caused him to smack into some trees early this morning.
Illinois State Police District 12 worked the wreck, which happened in the westbound lane of U.S. 50 a quarter-mile east of the Lawrenceville city limits at 7:10 a.m. today (Friday, May 27).
At that time, A white Dodge Ram pickup being driven by Robert A. Gibson, 27, of Lawrenceville, was traveling west on 50 just east of Lawrenceville when he left the roadway to the left and was unable to correct the vehicle back onto the roadway.
The pickup continued west in the median, sideswiping multiple trees and brush before coming to rest in the median.
Gibson was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to ISP.
He was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
