FAYETTE CO., Ill. - Another vehicle wreck out on Interstate 70 in Fayette County occurred today a few hours before the fatality that took place very early this morning (Thursday, May 26).
Illinois State Police District 12 said the first accident happened at 2:54 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70 at milepost 71 in Fayette County.
At that time, a blue 2013 Kenworth tractor-trailer with a Nebraska registration, being driven by Michael Diondre Booker, 22, of Indianapolis, was westbound when Booker drove out of his hand onto the shoulder.
Once he was on the shoulder, he corrected back onto the driving lane and the truck-tractor and semi-trailer overturned onto the shoulder and driving lane.
The driver and a passenger, Isaiah Deshawn Booker, 24, also of Indianapolis, were transported to the Fayette County Hospital. The passenger was flown to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for further treatment.
