CLARK CO., Ill. - A two-vehicle collision last evening south of Casey ended with a fatality: An 11-year-old from that town.
The accident, said Illinois State Police, happened at 5:14 p.m. yesterday (May 23) on 950th Rd near 230th Street (one mile south of Casey in Clark County).
At that time, ISP said, an orange 2012 Polaris Ranger being operated by the 11-year-old Casey child, was traveling eastbound on 950th Rd., approximately one-third of a mile east of 230th St.
A red 2003 Jeep being driven by Linda Medsker, 72, of Casey was traveling westbound.
The child lost control of the vehicle and overturned into oncoming traffic. The child was ejected from the vehicle and the Polaris struck the front of the Jeep. Both vehicles came to final rest on the north side of the roadway.
The driver of the Polaris was pronounced deceased at the scene. Medsker was not injured.
