Kevin Pickering, White County mug
EDWARDS CO., Ill. - Another Edwards County meth warrant has been served as the players in the multi-county meth ring continue to be drawn in.
Over the past year and a half, a huge contingent of people in Edwards, Richland, Wabash and White counties have been arrested as people like Nathan Headley and Josh Millman went federal, as well as Brad Beehn getting a massive state case against him. People like those three as part of their terms of sentence need to "comply with authorities," which means roll on others, no matter their part in the meth mess in downstate Illinois. When those three in particular started up their part of the choir, a whole lot of other people added theirs voices to it out of necessity. It's believed that Kevin Pickering's warrant came about as a verse in the ongoing tune.
Pickering, 26, became the subject of a warrant in April after he was charged Apr. 26 with an Edwards County Meth Delivery count dating back to March. Also issued at that time was a warrant for a Shannon Risley, 37, of Wabash County, which apparently remains unserved. Pickering was picked up on the warrant Saturday (May 21) while he was out "riding in a car" on Edwards County Road 800E...which, while it's a north-south road that goes from one end of Edwards to the other, happens to bisect West Salem, known locally as "Meth Salem"...so no surprise that he was snagged up there.
This is apparently Pickering's first foray into alleged meth-slinging, at least in Edwards, where he has a record of violence and violating OPs (which can at times go hand in hand). He's not got a court date set; be watching for updates.
