UNITED STATES—There are several folks out in Arizona tonight who are experiencing a sinking feeling….literally.
At approximately 5 a.m. this morning (Wednesday, February, 20, 2013) about 25 miles south of Page, Ariz. on highway Arizona 89, a more than 120 foot section of the highway sunk nearly 4-5 feet. Two vehicles were damaged while driving when the collapse occured. One person has minor injuries but other than that everyone is OKAY.
Arizona, as far as we’ve been able to ascertain, isn’t exactly known for sinkholes or any other big geological activity. However, some experts have stated that there happens to be a fault line right under this stretch of highway….despite the fact that no U.S. Geological Survey information has it showing any seismic activity.
